Dari Miniriset Sekolah ke Panggung Dunia: SMA Edu Global meraih Medali Emas Dalam ajang World Invention Competition and Exhibition

Dua siswi berbakat dari SMA Edu Global, Salsabila Safa Pramtiha dan Dathia Darmawan, berhasil menorehkan prestasi gemilang di kancah internasional. Mereka meraih medali emas dalam ajang World Invention Competition and Exhibition (WICE) 2025 yang diselenggarakan di SEGi University Malaysia pada 20–25 September 2025.


Kompetisi ini diikuti oleh ratusan peserta dari berbagai negara, antara lain Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Meksiko, dan Bangladesh. WICE menjadi ajang bergengsi yang menampilkan ide-ide inovatif dari para pelajar dan peneliti muda di bidang sains, teknologi, dan lingkungan.


Dalam ajang tersebut, Safa dan Dathia mempublikasikan karya inovatifya berjudul “Oryccan (Oryza Desiccant): Rice Husk Innovation in Flower Preservation.” Penelitian ini berangkat dari keingintahuan mereka yang disalurkan melalui program miniriset sekolah dimana siswa diminta melakukan penelitian ilmiah sederhana namun tetap inovatif dan tentunya bermakna.


Melalui riset ini, Safa dan Dathia menemukan bahwa limbah pertanian seperti sekam padi yang sering dianggap tidak bernilai ternyata memiliki potensi tinggi sebagai bahan pengawet alami untuk bunga kering. Mereka mengolah sekam menjadi desikan yang mampu menyerap kelembapan tanpa menggunakan bahan kimia berbahaya. Selain itu penelitian Safa dan Dathia diharapkan dapat menjadi alternatif ramah lingkungan yang dapat menggantikan silica gel ke depannya.

Oryccan tidak hanya menunjukkan kreativitas dan kemampuan ilmiah tetapi juga unggul karena aspek keberlanjutannya (sustainability) dan relevansi ekologisnya yang sejalan dengan SDGs. Dengan prestasi ini, Safa dan Dathia tidak hanya mengharumkan nama SMA Edu Global, tetapi juga membawa kebanggaan bagi Indonesia di ajang internasional. Keberhasilan mereka menjadi bukti bahwa inovasi bisa lahir dari kepedulian terhadap lingkungan sekitar dan semangat untuk terus belajar.

"Perkenalkan saya ibu dari 2 anak yang bersekolah di SMA EGS Bandung. Alasan kami memilih EGS untuk putri pertama kami krn pihak sekolah dapat memahami karakter anak kami yg pada saat itu mempunyai banyak kegiatan di luar akademik, dan dgn kemampuannya itu EGS malah banyak melibatkan Aurel dalam lomba lomba di luar sekolah, sehingga beberapa diantaranya memdapatkan prestasi. Suasana belajar yg tidak menegangkan dan jumlah anak di kelas yang hanya 20 orang sangat cocok untuk Aurel shingga menghantarkan Aurel mendptkan kuota jalur rapot.Mengikuti arahan dan bimbingan para guru Aurel berhasil masuk Fikom UNPAD jalur rapot dan alhamdulillah menyelesaikan kuliahnya dlm waktu 3.5 tahun Cum Laude.

Dengan alasan yg sama kami kembali menyekolahkan anak kedua kami di EGS dan Alhamdulillah juga bisa mdptkan kuota jalur rapot.

Kedua anak kami menguasai keterampilam berbahas inggris yg bagus tanpa mengikuti les d luar sekolah, Rayhan memiliki score ielts 7.5 sehingga bisa mendaftar dan diterima di beberapa Universitas luar negeri , Aurel pun berhasil magang menjadi guru bahasa inggris di Turki selama 4 bulan.

Sekolah bukan hanya tempat untuk belajar akademik tp juga tempat untuk mengasah berbagai potensi diri dan melatih percaya diri..dan di EGS anak anak kami Alhamdulillah bertumbuh dan terarah.
